Measures

How do you select all the measures of one instrument? i know you can do it by holding shift and pressing right or click the last measure you want to select all in between, but I that is too tedious and long. I want to to be able to do it just like selecting notes in one staff. I'm trying to do it, but when I select a measure, there is simply no option to select all measures in the same staff.
