seeking input to MuseScore from PDF sheet music

• Mar 1, 2018 - 20:53

I'm looking for a linux-base application[-suite] similar to PhotoScore™ and NotateMe™ that is available for Sebelius®.

I want to create "rehearsal files" from PDF sheet music in support of the church choirs where I sing.. My play involves scan-to-PDF and then import into MuseScore. Once editable, I would separate the accompaniment from the various vocal parts. I could then use MuseScore to play and export the audio for a single voice -- SATB or S1/S2, ... B1/B2, etc. Armed with this audio, a singer would be able to rehearse their part without a human accompanist. Long term I would hope to create a video that includes scrolling lyrics or similar.

My church has an extensive library of chroral literature and licence to create "rehearsal copies." I propose to create these MuseScore based audio files under those license terms.

Thanks in advance,

See Audiveris, or just try File / Import from PDF, from within MuseScore (which uses Audiveris via a web service on MuseScore.com). I would not get your hopes up too much about this being easier than entering the music manually, though.
