Mac & PC File interchange

• Mar 11, 2018 - 10:03

Hi all,

Was wondering if you can help. For a long time I've been happy to transpose music for friends, but it has come to a stage now where, due to politics and wanting to move on, I'm not wanting to do this anymore.

However, I'm not going to leave people without help. I've asked my friend if he would be willing to learn now to use Musescore and he said he would. However, he uses a Mac and I use a PC.

If he starts work on some music and sends the file to me, will I be able to open it and look at his work, making changes as necessary?

Many thanks

There is no issue at all moving scores between platforms.
Except, maybe, filenames: Linux, Mac and Windows do have different constrains about what is allowed in a filename and what not (and Windows is the limiting factor here, not allowing e.g. '\' or ':' in a filename), and how e.g. 'Umlauts' are encoded, so better shy away from those.
