Colour of Selected Notes

• Apr 22, 2018 - 22:06

My version of Musescore has mysteriously changed the background paper and canvas colours to black - I have managed to fix this in the preferences settings, however, now whenever I select a note it stays black and it is impossible to say which notes have been selected in edit mode.

How do I change the colour of the selected note so that it appears a different colour to the notes in the score?

If no better answer is given after then:
Try:
File menu -> Preferences -> General
"Reset all Preferences to default" button (see Bottom Left)
then Close, and reopen The App.

If the above doesn't solve your problem:

Help menu -> "Revert to factory settings" (You lose all personal customizations)
then Close, and reopen The App.

This sounds very similar to an issue we had with MuseScore 2.0.3 on certain MacOS systems, for which we (back then) made an emergency 2.0.3.1 release. All versions since (2.1, 2.2 and the current 2.2.1) should no longer have this issue.

So the question is; which version of MuseScore (help > about) and which OS (Mac/Win/Lin/…) are you using?

Ok - this is probably the issue. I tried to update my version of muse score but for some reason my operating system blocked it (will do this again and give more details in a future post). I am running 2.01 (which is probably ancient) on Mac OSX 10.12.4 (Sierra). I will finish the current score I am working on then try to update the version of Musescore I am using.
