be able to type in rehearsal marks in the play panel

• Apr 28, 2018 - 04:42

Although the play panel is nifty, and I just learned what the [ and ] buttons do for repeating a selection...very helpful! :) However, if one has designated automatic rehearsal marks for the song (A, B, C or 1,2,3), it would be snazzy to be able to type in the letters or numbers to play particular rehearsal marks... maybe have 2 boxes under [ and ] to type in particular rehearsal marks to play like you do for the tempo in the play panel. Not necessary but I do find typing something in easier to do than select a section of the song. On that note, thanks for the wonderful program and all the work you do. :) (cheesy pun I know)

Actually come to think about, that might be confusing for a beginner since it took me awhile to learn about rehearsal marks... may be for every rehearsal mark created, create a button on the play panel corresponding to the rehearsal marks that can be highlighted blue to play that section. So if someone had rehearsal marks A, B, C, and D and wanted to play C and D, they would click to highlight the C and D button blue on the play panel for instance...

For loop playback:
Instead of using the [ and ] brackets in the Play Panel to set the loop's start and end points, simply click on a measure, note, or rest in the score itself (e.g. at a rehearsal mark), then navigate to another measure/note/rest (e.g. at another rehearsal mark) and shift click. Once the range of measures is highlighted, toggle the Loop Playback button in the toolbar.
The [ and ] brackets are automatically placed onto your selection.

Regards.

No need for the Play Panel to jump to a particular rehearsal mark. From the score itself, press Ctrl+F then type the letter, and you are there, then press Play to start playback there.
