Filipino Dona Nobis Pacem

• May 15, 2018 - 07:30

I thought it would be interesting to make a Filipino setting of the Mass. "Dona nobis pacem" is "Ipagkaloob Mo sa amin ang kapayapaan" in Filipino, which is fifteen syllables compared to only six in Latin. This makes it more difficult to make fugues because of the long words and unusual stress.

My Filipino isn't the best, so if there's anyone who speaks Filipino better, I'd like to know if there are any problems with the text ie. putting stress on a weak syllable, awkward placement of words etc.

This piece is also incomplete. So far, I have the beginning, the exposition of the development section fugue, what I think would be the "climax" of the piece and the ending. There may be some awkward parts and weird orchestration, but this is still a draft.

Please comment what you think; your feedback will greatly help me in completing my hundreds of unfinished pieces. I can't upload all of them to my account though, since I'm not a Pro member. Dammit, MuseScore.
