Hi all. New to this so go easy lol. How do I set th4e master tempo. Everytime I load a score It reverts back to 120 bpm?

As Shoichi said, you have to set the tempo in the score. The default is 120BPM if no tempo is entered. You can always hide it by selecting it and pressing V if you don't want to see it.
at the beginning of the sheet music on the top left corner you'll see a quarter note= # for the tempo bpm. right Click on that number and select "edit element" from the menu, type in the new number for desired bpm (beats per minute) to set the new tempo for your song. : )
