How do I get only one line of the piano part to change its dynamics?
I just got Musescore 2 the other day and I've been mostly satisfied with it. I've run into an issue, however. When I place dynamics onto the piano part of a song, both the top and bottom lines change in volume. How can I place dynamics so that they only affect the piano's lines individually? I don't know much about this software, so please be patient with me. Thanks!

Select the dynamic and open the inspector (F8) if not already open. Change the Dynamic Range: to "staff" rather than "part," which is the default.

Don't feel stupid, it's not the most obvious thing to look at.
