Automatic slashes
I notice that when I go to tools and select "add/remove line breaks", if I have selected nothing MS automatically assumes that I mean the whole tune.
However if I select "fill with slashes", if I have selected nothing, nothing happens.
My thought is that the "fill" tools should act in the same manner as the "add/remove" tool in this instance.

Fair enough, that would be an easy change. Could you file a formal feature request via the issue tracker?
We're a bit inconsistent about this right now, some commands do an automatic select all if nothing is selected, others don't. Might be worth looking at the overall strategy here.
