Omitting instruments from selected measures

Can I Print a new score so that it omits some voices for some measures? eg where sopranos don't sing for 10 measures - can I avoid printing all those rests by removing the soprano line? Many thanks if you can help, and my apologies if the answer is obvious! Thank you! PS I have nothing against sopranos. Some of my best friends...
