Unfortunately there is no great way, but there is a workaround:
1) right click one lyric of verse 1
2) Select / More
3) Same subtype
4) OK
5) Delete
Repeat for the other verses you want to delete.
This leaves "holes", but you can then select the lyrics left behind and use the Inspector to adjust them manually. Unfortunately there will still be extra space allocated though, so you might need to adjust settings in Style / General / Page. If you need further assistance, please attach your score and we can advise better.
