Beaming problems in version 3.0

I have found several issues with beaming and time signatures that I'm not sure to what extent they are related so I'm not sure how many bug reports to create.

1. Setting beam to Beam middle does not connect note to last note in previous measure. For example: Select the last 8th note in a measure and first 8th note in the next measure, apply middle beam and see nothing happens. The eighth notes should be beamed across the bar line.

2. Setting a beam using palette and double clicking beaming option results in beam being applied, but the original beaming is still highlighted in the palette. Deselect and reselect the note and the current beaming will be highlighted.

3. In all time signatures the Appearance defaults to blank if it matches actual value when the "Text" radio button is selected. It should always show the displayed time signature. It did in version 2.x.
