How do I delete rests?

• Sep 16, 2018 - 16:26

So, I'm pretty new to Musescore, and I love it. But I do have a problem that I couldn't find a solution to. I have a rest in my score that I didn't insert there, and I need to delete it to keep the rhythm going. How do I delete that annoying rest? Any help would be great. Thanks!

If the rest is present in your score, it is probably needed to maintain the proper number of beats in the measure for the voice the rest is present in. Deleting it would leave the measure with too few beats, so MuseScore doesn't allow that directly. I am guessing you mean there is a rest you don't want and the next notes then start a beat later, so you want those subsequent notes to start earlier - where the rest is now. So, simply select the notes you want moved earlier, Ctrl+X to cut, then click the rest and Ctrl+V to paste.

If this doesn't help, then indeed, please attach your score so we can understand and assist better.
