Appoggiaturas also take on staccatos if similar notes are selected vertically with in multiple instruments.

Make a score with 3 or 4 instruments.
Write a note in the top voice.
Apply an appoggiatura.
Copy that voice into the other voices.
Select all those main notes (vertically) but not the appoggiaturas and apply a staccato to them.

Even though the appoggiaturas are not selected, they also are staccatoed.
