Deleted account and horrible help resources

• Nov 12, 2024 - 22:03

Taking a deep breath in, and then out.

I've been a member of Musescore since 2022, its been pretty sufficient and helpful. A couple nights ago, i was editing my profile. Legit, i was editing my bio, i changed ONE LINE from "i've been in my schools band for 4 years" to "i've been in my schools band for 6 years". Thats it. As soon as i hit save, my account was deleted. Shocked, confused, and upset, i took to Muscore support, surely this was a mistake - right?

I nervously waited for an email back, then my "savior", Sofia from musescore, emailed me. Thanks for nothing sofia. When i told her what happened, it was almost like she didnt speak english. She said my pro subscription had ended and that my account was deleted and to let them know my credentials so i can be re-embuirsed for my pro subscription. I cancelled my subscription months ago, it was too much money for too little in return. Funny thing - when my account was deleted i got an email from musescore saying "Thanks for being with us! We'll miss you. Hi oishamusic, Just confirming that your PRO subscription has been canceled. It ends on December 31, 1969 and will not renew automatically." .. im sorry.. 1969? Im just as confused as you are.

Finally, after trudging through the swamps with sofia - ill spare you the details, it was essentially me explaining what happened 30 times and explaining i didnt have a pro subscription - i thought it was over. She restored my account, yay! Just kidding. I forgot my password, so i reset it, when i logged in my username was changed to a bunch of numbers. Okay, i thought, i made a new account with the same username of the banned account so i just assumed that was the reason because you cant have two accounts with the same username.

I click on "my profile". 0 scores published, 0 favorite scores, 0 follwing, 0 followers, its like i just made a new account. MONTHS of compositions and arrangements - GONE, without a trace. Even funnier, the account says "member since december of 1969."

Musescore is a mess. THEN.. TOTALLY UNRELATED.. i opened musescore 4 to take my mind off the mess and compose some music, i kid you not the notes were sharp. Yes, the playback of the notes, were sharp. And didnt even sound like the instrument!!

Jeez. Anyone got recomendations for music software other than musescore!?

That glitch is very strange. I hope you get your account back soon.

A lot of users don't seem to know, but there is a difference between MuseScore.com (the big part of your post) and MuseScore.org, which handles the software development. MuseScore.org is not able to do much about your MuseScore.com unfortunately, so I will direct you to repost here on MuseScore.com: https://musescore.com/groups/improving-musescore-com

Use Dorico. In your case, Dorico is cheaper than the absolutely free Musescore Studio.
