Save "Custom" Instrument Settings

I'm using v2.1, and the thought just occurred to me that it might be helpful to save certain settings for instruments. For example, the bagpipe currently is set to transpose up a step with a range of F4 to G5, but I've read that its two sharps are "understood" and thus it would play at concert pitch--if the sharps are even necessary. The range I'm finding everywhere online is G4 to A5 as well, and it would be nice to save those settings so I don't need to change them every time I use one in a score.

I'd also prefer to have the closed SATB staves as separate instruments (i.e., a staff with soprano and alto and a staff with tenor and bass). It would be useful to have that option for orch/choir pieces where only two staves are needed for a four-part choir (as opposed to having all the choir parts on separate staves).
Right now it seems the only option is to adjust the usable pitch range for each staff; and, again, I wish I could save those settings.
