Make Tempo Larger in Score Only

• Oct 27, 2018 - 19:00

I would like to make the tempo text in the score larger to make it easier to read from a distance while having the text in the parts at a smaller font size. When I change one it affects the other, and I am not sure if there is a way to make this happen apart from exporting the score file separately from the part files with the text at the larger font, then changing the font size and exporting the part files.

You have changed the font size in the parts (and score) using the wrong method. After you extract parts, right click any tempo in the score and adjust the text style (NOT properties) and all of the tempos in the score will have the same attributes. Editing each one individually is too time consuming. This will not change the parts. This info is for future reference.

To fix your parts, you have to now fix each part. Right click a tempo in the part and choose select>all similar items. This will select all of the tempo marks. You can then look in the inpsector (use F8 if needed to see it) and click "Reset to text style" this will return all tempo marks in that part to the default that can be set using right click text style if you want to.

If you look under the Style->Text menu, you will see all of the types of text you can set styles for. If you are in the score, you will change the style for the entire score and any parts created AFTER this style is changed. If you are in a part, you will have the option of changing only that part or all parts that already exist.
