Time signature properties

(version 2.3.2)

A work for 15 instruments in 5/8. I wanted eighth pattern of ** *** as opposed to default *** **. As written I right clicked on time sig and adjusted the pattern successfully. What I found, as in a previous piece, was that each time a new instrument was added to the texture the process had to be repeated in the new instrument's time sig. If not, ALL the others reverted to the default pattern after new instrument entrance.

Not sure if this is an error, bug or if I missed something.

When you right click the time sig to adjust the beaming it only affects that staff and not others. You can add a new time signature to the master palette with the same time (5/8) with the proper beaming. There's one issue to overcome though, if you replace one 5/8 time signature with another of the same, MuseScore recognizes this as the same time signature and does not fix the beams. The way around this is to create a "temporary" time signature that will not ruin rhythms but is not 5/8. For example, a 3/8 time signature would make many dotted 1/4 notes turn into a 1/4 and 8th note tied together. Putting the 5/8 time signature back will not restore the rhythms. I suggested the Regroup Rhythms be deleted because it causes irreversible deleting of ornaments and articulations. What I mean is that Undo will not restore them so you would need to reenter all of them. So what I do is create a time signature like 10/8 (or in this case the existing 5/4) that is exactly twice as many beats and insert that into the score. I then reinsert the new 5/8 time signature which fixes the beams.
