Duplicating part of a score.

• Nov 5, 2018 - 17:55

Hi,

I hope this is the correct place to be posting this question. I am wondering if there is a way to copy a portion of a score, where meter changes, etc are also preserved. I can copy a string of notes, chords, lyrics just fine, but if there's a pickup measure, or meter changes, I have to add all that stuff manually if I am to copy a portion containing those things.

Thanks,

p.s. also wondering if there is any difference between posting this question at musescore.org or musescore.com ... it seems the same login works on both sites.

Basically, no, there is not a way to do a copy that preserves time signature changes, barline customizations, etc. It's a reasonably common and understandable request, hopefully some day such a feature will be added.

As for musescore.org and msuescore.com - indeed, same login, but this is the main site for questions about the MuseScore editor software. musescore.com is more about sharing and discussion scores, also discussing the mobile apps. There are a couple of dedicated groups there for discussing the software, but that's more to give a place to people who haven't discovered musescore.org yet, and there is much less activity and there (which is to say, fewer people around to answer questions).

Ciao, the same login works for both sites, but this is the right place for questions about how to use the software and solve related problems.
For the first one, for now I'm afraid you'll have to keep correcting by hand (first prepare the destination then paste)
