Adding dotted barlines without screwing up the time signature or the measure itself.

I'm wondering if it is possible to add a dotted barline in the middle of a measure for easier reading for people learning a piece with irregular time signatures. For example, I'm working on a piece that has 5/8 time in it at one point, and I want to visually separate the measure into 2 parts using a dotted line so that the first part has the first 3 divisions of the beat and the second part has the last 2 divisions of the beat. Also, I want to do it in a way that it doesn't mess up the measure itself, and without changing the time signature.

I've given an example of a couple of places I want to do this in this score I'm transcribing, and the location of the barline is where the beamed 8th notes are separated.

Is this possible, and if so, how do I do it?

Select the first note/rest after the dotted barline and double click it in the palette. The barline can be extended like any other barline, but only the selected barline will be extended.
