Note input slows down far faster than version 2.x

I've noticed that note input in version 3 slows down incredibly fast in version 3 while in continuous view (I rarely use page view for input). The slowdown is worse than it was in version 2. I can't give you response times, but the slowdown is noticeable with fewer measures than in version 2. In version 2 I needed around 100 measure for the slowdown to make me find a faster way. In version 3 its around 65 measures.
