Clues in parts for transposing instruments

• Dec 3, 2018 - 05:21

This is a question about the rules of notation, not about how to use Musescore:

Working on an orchestral piece I need to enter clues into the parts. If the part is for a transposing instrument does one enter the clues as printed in the score or transposed the same way the the part is transposed? And by the same token: If the clue represents a transposing instrument in a "normal" part: Is the clue as is sounds or as it appears in the score?

Cue (not clue) notes are always written so the musician looking at them would play what is written. A B-flat clarinet player would see Oboe notes transposed and a trombone player would see french horn notes in concert (normal) pitch.
