page vs continuous view
just downloaded the new beta 3.
OS: Windows 7 SP 1 (6.1), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.0.0.4516, revision: 59a11cd
Loaded the file I had been having promlems with (Ottava lines) and pleased that that has been fixed.
But another issue has arisen.
The lyrics placement goes wrong when i switch from Page View to Continuous View. Switching back to page view and it's all OK.

Confirmed using OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.0.0.4516, revision: 59a11cd
I suggest your create an issue in the Issue Tracker:

I can tell you what's going on, and the bad news is this is currently by design. MuseScore normally tries to align all lyrics in a given system, as per usual notation standards. So the lowest syllable on any given system determines the height for the whole system. In page view, this means some lyrics might be lower than necessary but just for a few measures. just a few measures. In continuous view, though, the entire score is one system. So the lowest syllable anywhere in the score determines the height them all. And on top of that, the normal code to automatically space the staves is disabled in continuous view, I think to prevent things from needing to be spaced out crazy wide just to accommodate one or two markings that might require extra space.
It's not a great situation but right now we don't have a solution Workaround is to add spacers while in continuous view
