Tried to work out how to add a lead in bar on musescore 3, but all I get is the rests in the wrong place (before and after the lead in note). Tried to follow instructions "Create ... measure ... " but cant find this option. "Add" just seems to add a regular bar

Or select the rest (or note)->Tools/Bar->Split bar before...
MS3 give the additional option of selecting unwanted rests and pressing ctrl+delete to shorten the measure. You CANNOT use ctrl+click to add rests to the selection, you have to use shift+click to add to the selection.
Note: this is broken when there are more than one instruments in the current 3.0 release but has already been reported as fixed for the next release.
