Slur/Tie properties in Musescore 2/3

• Jan 25, 2019 - 15:27

Hi everyone!

I don't know if someone else has noticed the same problem, but when I used to Musescore 2 a Slur/Tie that connect two notes of different duration, the notes was always played separately by the program.

The problem was resolved only halfway with Musescore 3. In facts, if the two notes, connected by a Tie/Slur are located in the same beat, the program reproduces them as a single note (photo 1). However, if the two notes are located in two different beats, the program continues to play them as separate notes (photo 2), and sometimes this is really disappointing.

I'm wondering the problem will be resolved early, at least in Musescore 3.

I've attach two images to explain the problem better.

Good job to everyone! Bye.

My guess is that you are not using a tie, but a slur. MuseScore has never played a slur properly but has always played a tie properly. There is a button on the toolbar to add a slur as well as the default shortcut +

We would need to see the actual score to confirm this since they look so similar.
