Problem with MIDI lyrics
Hello,
I have around 500 old .mus files of hymns. These .mus files are only viewable in the program "Melody Assistant" (which is horrendous, in my opinion). It seems the only export option from MA that musescore would be able to import is MIDI. So, I've tried exporting the midi and opening in musescore. The notes are all in tact, from what I can tell. But the lyrics are botched. I've attached a screenshot of what I am presented with when first opening one particular midi. The lyrics are in tact in the panel, as circled in the pic, but in the actual score they are half missing. Do you know of any way I could fix this?
(PS. If it matters, I am using Musescore 2, as I need a particular plugin that is no longer supported on newer versions)

Export it to XML. MuseScore can read this.

I wish I could, but melody assistant does not provide XML export :(

Sorry, I was going by what I found on the Internet at http://www.myriad-online.com/resources/docs/melody/english/faqfilegener… where it says
1- If it is a music notation software:
If you own Harmony Assistant and the target software imports XML files, export in this format.
Everyone knows that everything your read in the internet it true...Right? 😜

haha, np.
I'm guessing that my only option now is to pay for the even more expensive (but equally as hideous) Harmony assistant. (Melody assistant is the watered down version, which is what I have). HA allows XML files and MH does not.
I was hoping the issue was on musescores importing side, so I wouldn't have to purchase yet another program.

You have educated me on a subject I know nothing about. Midi import works, but it's more work for you. It's up to you to decide if it's worth the price to be able to export MusicXML.
