Musescore Doesn't Save Soundfont Choices

• Jan 30, 2019 - 18:09

I've been using MS for a few years, but this is the first time I've had this problem: For some reason, the program (version 2.3.2 in this case) is no longer saving my soundfont choices in the Mixer or even the Synthesizer. As a result of this, I have to manually change each voice back to its intended soundfont every time I open a score.
The last font set I've added is called "Nice-Strings-PlusOrchestra" ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/1c0pCI0YdcFEpSLEbCW8HTzFOlJpz0HS9/view ), so I don't know if it's a problem with it or MS itself.

So I guess I have a couple questions: 1) What's causing MS to lose my fonts? and 2) Has anyone else had a problem with this specific font?

Sound fonts can be set in two ways. Save to score and set as default. If you save to score, then you can load the fonts saved to that score by clicking the load from score button. If you want to change back to the default, then click load default. If you change the order of the fonts, you scores will have different sounds defined, unless you used save to score for the font then load from score to restore them.

The location for version 3 sounds fonts is not the same as in version 2, so you will need to adjust the sound fonts for version 3.

You can only have one set of sound fonts loaded at a time, so if you make a change, all scores will be affected by it. I hope this clarifies what is happening.
