Keeping half and quarter note seperate
I've uploaded a file to show from a piano piece showing what I'm looking for. I'm trying to recreating this score, but I'm not sure how to keep the half note and the quarter seperate, not even when using different "voices"
Anybody got any advice?

The right way is by using voices. But from your picture, there seems to be missing a quarter rest.
There's actually three different voices occurring in that measure: 1) the half-beat chord and rest, 2) the 8th note melody with a quarter note on beat 1, and 3) the quarter note on beat 4.
Thanks for the help guys. I got quite far (see new picture), but I would still like to separte the two notes (half and quarter). Is there any way to do this?

Select the note to move. In the Inspector, adjust the Chord Offset on the X axis.

Offset the quarter note "chord" (MuseScore calls the notehead(s), stem, flag(s) and dot(s) together a "chord" and just the notehead a "note") in the Inspector, and then flip the half note's notehead, also in the Inspector. I attached a file you can copy if you really get stuck.
EDIT: sorry, attached file not up to date, forgot to save before attaching.
Again, thanks everybody for all the help. Really appreciated!
