Can't play from specific sections

I just updated Musescore to the latest file, and there seems to be a major issue in trying to "play" from specified places in the music. I click on a note (not the beginning) and hit the play button or spacebar, and it will randomly jump to a different section of the music and play for barely a note value, and then stop. It is extremely frustrating while trying to arrange a piece on a time crunch as I cannot listen back and hear what I just wrote (EX: I clicked on measure 58, beat 1 and hit play. The third beat of measure 64 was then played and abruptly stopped, followed by silence. I clicked the original starting spot again and hit space, and then the piece started from beat 1 measure 1).
