Can't add new palettes

• Mar 5, 2019 - 05:03

When I opened a custom workspace, I found no existing palette in it. According to the handbook, adding a palette requires one to right-click on an existing palette. This rendered my custom workspace empty and therefore useless.
Version is 3.0.4.

Which workspace were you looking at when you created the custom workspace. It's supposed to default to what you are looking at.

Not sure if I understand you correctly, but I was looking at the palette of the newly-created custom workspace.
Btw the attached image is what I see when creating a new workspace.

Edit 1: Yes, I did misunderstood. I was looking at the advanced workspace.
Edit 2: I just tried again and it is now fine. Not sure why Musescore would've produced a blank one though.

I'll explain the process to create a new workspace for you.

  • Select either Advanced or Basic workspace using the menu below the palettes.
  • Press the + button to the right of the word Advanced or Basic.
  • This opens a box where you can name your new workspace
  • You can check the boxes for the items you also want included in the custom workspace.
  • When you click OK you will see the same palettes you were looking at when you created the workspace. The difference is that these palettes will have the added ??? in each palette.

If you want to delete the empty workspace, you can select it and use the menu View->Workspaces->Delete to delete the currently displayed workspace.
