Export music as an audio file?

Hi, I'm new to this and can't seem to find a basic feature (which is surely there) - the ability to export my piece as an mp3 or alternative audio file. I'm a Mac user which probably limits my options a little bit.. I ended up using Quicktime to screen record playback. This seems nuts! Any suggestions for a newbie gratefully received.

Thanks. I updated software recently and this became visible, in the place I would have expected to find it. Interesting that it just wasn't there before - believe me I looked! :)
