trying to overlay a whole note in different voices
It is no problem to overlay halfs or dotted halves. I does not seem to be allowed for whole notes. In printed music the attached example looks the same. So, is it a feature, that Musescore does not allow that, even I if liked to overlay the two "d"s?

Thank you, that is what I was looking for. Even though it might be unusual. I prefer thispresentation.
Whole notes do not print on top of each other in any music since there is no stem to indicate this this happening. Your picture shows what I would expect to see. If you wanted, you could make one of the whole notes invisible and write a2 above it, but I don't see the need for this with one note.
