Creating spaces in barlines for text

See attached pictures. I want to be able to move the "div." and "unis." texts to the left so that they appear in line with the bar line; however, the barline doesn't go through the texts. I see this a lot in professional engravings and I am always in this situation where I want to do this but just don't know if it is possible.

Select the text then in the inspector,

Set Frame: to square
Border: to 0
Click the rectangle next to Background: and change the color to white and set the alpha at 255.

This will put a white background around the text and cover the barlines.
