I need help with cross staff notes (Musescore 3)
I'm trying to put a handwritten score into Musescore but I can't seem to figure out how to do cross-staff notes correctly. The specific ones I'm trying to do are circled in the image below. Whenever I try to do it based on the handbook it stretches the staves. What do I need to do in order to get what I want?

What operating system are you using, and can you attach the picture of the notes you are moving?

I added the pictures, and I'm using Windows 10.

Very good. I now see what's happening.
I'll start with the bottom problem. It's a known bug that will be fixed in 3.1 when it's released. See #280531: Beam separates from stems when crossing staves..
The second problem has to do with auto placement. To extend a stem to the staff above, click the stem, look in the inspector (F8) and remove the check from Automatic Placement then extend to stem to connect to the note above. This will prevent the staves from separating due to the stems. Keep in mind, adding lyrics and dynamics might cause the staves to move apart, so you may want to extend the stems last.
