Pizz. playback in version 3.0.5.21343 not working

• Apr 25, 2019 - 16:45

I am selecting a note and adding pizz. from the staff text menu. When I access the Staff Text Properties, it indicates pizzicato as the channel for the voice, however, when I use the playback feature the notes still play as arco. I'm not sure what I am doing incorrectly. I'm attaching a test file that shows the issue I am having.

Thanks for the help!

It works fine for me. I've noticed that you need to just open then click OK (or press enter) on the Staff Text Properties window on one item and all of them start playing back properly.

I'm not familiar with your cello.sf2 soundfont. It looks like it was added three times for some reason. My guess is that the soundfont does not have a pizzicato sound, but I could be wrong. The name could simply be different enough that MuseScore doesn't recognize the name. In the Mixer (F10), click the arrow above the vertical volume control for the cello so you can see all of the cello channels. Click on the pizzicato channel to select it then in the top left section see what sound is assigned to it. You can click the name to see if there is a pizzicato channel included in your soundfont.

What I expect to see is something like:
Cello fast
Cello Slow
Cello Pizzicato
Cello Tremolo
Cello fast (1)
Cello Slow (1)
Cello Pizzicato (1)
Cello Tremolo (1)
Cello fast (2)
Cello Slow (2)
Cello Pizzicato (2)
Cello Tremolo (2)
Grand Piano

Grand Piano will mark the beginning of the MuseScore_General.sf3 soundfont followed by a lot of other instruments. If you don't see something that resembles pizzicato in the sound list before the Grand Piano, then it is not included the cello.sf2 sound font.
