Question on uninstalling beta

I wonder if when installing the new stable version the beta version is automatically uninstalled. I still have the icon on my desktop but when attempting to uninstall it, it doesn't appear in the list.
Sorry for the question, it is my first time installing a beta or a release candidate (up to version 2.x I always installed portable versiones)
