how do I delete unwanted scores from MS home screen
My home screen shows scores I started but then changed my mine. I'd like to discard those false starts. I cannot drag them to 'choose a file'

The scores in Home>Scores are ones you have saved. You can't do anything with them from that screen but open them. Go to the place to which you saved them and delete them there. Then they won't show on the home screen.
The scores shown on the MuseScore home screen can't be manually adjusted from within the app (besides clearing all of them), but the scores that are shown are determined by a file. On Windows this is the path to that file:
%AppData%..\Local\MuseScore\MuseScore4\recent_files.json
If you are familiar with editing a .json file you can remove the file paths that point to scores you don't want to see on the home screen and then restart the app to see changes take effect.
Hope this helps!
