Adding dynamics in the middle of a note
I'm working on a song that is supposed to have swells that reach their peak in beat 3 of a whole note but I can only place dynamics at the beginning of the note. I know I can change it visually, but I'm writing it purely for the playback so I'm wondering if there's a way to change the placing of the dynamic so you hear it in the middle of the note.

Put rests into an unused voice (see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/voices if needed) so you have a rest that starts on beat 3 (two half notes in 4/4 time works for this) and add the dynamic to the rest on the 3rd beat. Make the rests invisible (select them and press V). You can add a crescendo to the half rest for the swell in volume.

This was always possible, but now works for single note dynamics playback, while moving it around in the measure doesn't playback correctly.
