Downloading Musescore for Macbook Air OS.X 10.8.5 (mid 2013)

Can anyone help please - I wanted to use the newer version of Musescore, and deleted the old version to make way for the new. I then found that the system on this mac is too old for the new version, but now I cannot re-download my old version. I have tried to download the version on the site for "macOS 10.7 or higher", but it says: "Musescore 2.3.2 dmg not recognised." Anyone got any ideas please?
