MuseScore won't load

A few months ago I bought a midi cable to go between my laptop and my Yamaha MX-49. I never got them to work but I assume I changed a setting somewhere that is causing problems. I haven't you MuseScore since then. Yesterday and today when I try to load MuseScore, it tries to configure a Yamaha Steinberg driver, which throws an error. I click the ok and pops up several times until just stays on the install screen and doesn't progress. I have uninstalled MuseScore and reinstall and still get the same thing.
