Accidentals in fingering text

• Aug 25, 2019 - 14:11

Normally one wouldn't put an accidental in fingering text, yet it could be done in the sense that fingering text can be alternatively used for the sake of the way it is executed: the nice vertical stacking is useful for other reasons besides fingering and lyric texts. The point of mentioning this is that there is an error which occurs if an accidental is placed in fingering text. Use the insert special character while entering a fingering text, double-click a flat for instance, and voila, the status bar on the bottom of MuseScore acts really strange.

This either ought to be fixed so that it doesn't happen (i.e., maybe in supplying the fingering position in the status bar, omit anything that isn't a numeral 1-9 or part of a hyphenation for mid-note finger changes), or disable the ability to use special characters in fingering, or figure out which special characters cause trouble (probably too much work for that) and omit them in the status bar.

P.S. In a staff-text, a flat shows just fine in the status bar, so maybe the same function or method-style for displaying a staff-text in the status-bar ought to also be employed for the manifestation of a fingering-text in the status-bar?
