Deselecting "Create Courtesy Clefs" is not working

Hello!

I am attempting to create a page with 4 vocal sight-reading examples on it. The lines alternate between treble and bass clefs. When I deselect "Create Courtesy Clefs" from the "Page" tab of the "Style" menu, there is no change. When I select an individual courtesy clef and select "Hide Courtesy Clef" from the inspector menu, there is no change. When I select an individual courtesy clef and click "delete" from the inspector menu, the next system changes clef, although the clef on the next system does not change, which affects the playback octave, tonality, and placement of the key signature. How do I fix it?
