Cannot connect midi keyboard

OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.0.5.5992, revision: 58dd23d

in preferences>I/O, the keyboard does not appear under MIDI input. The keyboard works in other applications, and is plugged in and turned on before Musescore is launched.
