Copying a large number of custom time signatures

• Sep 4, 2019 - 10:29

Hi there!

I've been messing around a bit and I was wondering if there was any way to mass copy and paste time signatures between instruments? Normally this wouldn't be a problem, because on the addition of an instrument would usually carry over the time signatures from the other instruments. My issue is that I'm working with custom time signatures, where I've used hidden tempo markings, as well as the time signature editor to allow for some "interesting" time signature choices i.e 4|7, 3|9, etc.

Although the tempo carries over, the time signatures themselves just go back to default formatting, messing up the look of the music. This is purely visual, and I will be able to work with it, but it would be nice to have consistency without having to copy and paste every single signature across, which with the length and number of time signature changes, could easily take upwards of 20 minutes per instrument.

Thanks for the help!

The thing to do is add your custom time signature to the palette, then when you add the time signature to your score, it gets added to all staves already.

As you can see from my screenshot, this does partially work, but does not solve my problem. I can create my custom time signature 5|3, by getting 5|4 time and changing the text to say 5|3, however on the addition of a new instrument, or changing the instrument, it removes this custom text, displaying 5|4 again.
