Edit of instruments.xml file for allowing keyswitch support

• Nov 7, 2019 - 09:20

I tried to edit the instruments.xml file to allow use of keyswitches with .sfz soundbanks. This requires assigning a "Key On" message to a midi action, so that it can be triggered via staff text. The problem is, I don't know the necessary commands to write a "Key On" message. I know that CC messages can be written and used as midi actions, so this should be possible. Does anybody know how it should be written? Also, is there a complete list of all the commands that can be used to edit the instruments.xml file? Thank you in advance.

Turns out that MuseScore can't trigger different articulations via keyswitches inside internally loaded .sfz files. I started searching for a way to do it in a more convenient way before I actually tried just writing keyswitch notes on the score to see if it works.

NOTE: Still, it would be useful to have a list of all the commands that can be used for editing the instruments.xml file.
