It concerns these elements attached to a note or rest:
Staff text, lyrics, dynamics, articulations, , ornaments,arpeggio's, glissandi and fingering.
When a polyphonic texture gets more densely populated it would help to see quickly which element belongs to which voice. For arpeggio's, glissandi and fingering this is maybe less important.
When atttached elements have to move from their default position the voice information in the statusbar can help preventing positional mistakes
It would be an ergonomical addition to the voice colors.
