Bug when changing time signature for one bar
When I try to change a time signature for just one bar or even several bars, excessive slurs appear all over the score both on the stave and above it which weren't there before and cannot be reversed. This happens every time! What can I do to avoid this? (see page 2 and 3 of file)

Your file is not there. I think there are not Slurs but ties, which link the same note across 2 bars. Cause your new time signature, for exemple you were in 4/4 with a whole not in the first measure, you ask 3/4 for the 2nd measure, your whole note is always during 4 times, 3 in the first measure and the 4th in the 2nd measure, the both with a tie. Perhaps I am wrong.
Sounds like you are describing #297957: Ties extended in region after time signature change, the solution is to update to the latest version of MuseScore (3.3.4). You'll still need to fix any scores already damaged by older versions.
