Varying bars per line

• Dec 22, 2019 - 02:03

I am very new to MuseScore and although I have found a range of questions around this topic it seems there are many ways the same visual problem can arise.
Attached are the score I have begun to create score1.mscv and a screenshot of the problem.
The score was created using a blank template with recorder as the instrument.
The first line has 6 rest bars which is reasonable, given they are all rests, the second line has 4 bars which is optimal but the third line now only consists of 2 bars when clearly it could still have more.
I don't believe I did anything unusual in scoring this third line.
Is it possible to have more bars on this third line and how do I go about it?
I did try the stretch/squeeze option but the effect is minimal.
I have now added a fourth and part of a fifth line which again appear "normal", both have more notes than the third.

Looks like you added system breaks - those little icons above the last measure of each system. Not sure why you did that if you don't want the system to end there - maybe you accidentally press Enter, the shortcut for them? But anyhow, just delete whichever breaks you don't want. Same as in a word processor.
