At which point does it freeze? Any output if you start it from terminal? Are you using a distribution package of MuseScore? Maybe check if it's also freeze by using the AppImage, or by using another window manager.

Sort of 'Freezing' happens at startup. In any case I never managed to open a project in MuseScore 3.

I tried the Appimage, as well as the flatpack version offered through linux mint's software manager and encountered the same problem in both cases. Starting it from the terminal starts version 2 which runs flawless.

Sorry, but I don't know how to use another window manager...

I think I was confused about "cinnamon". It seems to be the name of the distribution version and not of the desktop environment you're using, what I meant with window manager (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desktop_environment). But it doesn't sound for me, that's the reason of it.

And there's no output/useful information, if you run the application from terminal? Maybe try to start MuseScore with command line option from there like "-F" (https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/command-line-options) - if you're using the AppImage be sure to change to the correct folder/directory and using the correct spelling of the AppImage.
