Tool tips truncated on certain versions of macOS

On certain older versions of macOS (so far 10.11 & 10.13 are confirmed to have the issue; 10.15 does not. Please see #298934: macOS 10.11-10.13: tool tips truncated for more info.

A good example on the default screen is the Concert Pitch tool tip
Switch between concert/sounding pitch and transposing/written pitch
which is truncated to
Switch between concert/sounding pitch and transposing/writ

Workaround:
Preferences -> General -> (under Theme) Font face: change from ".SF NS Text" to "Tahoma"

If you have a version other than 10.11, 10.13, 10.15 (or your "is / is not an issue" is different from what we have so far), please add your macOS version number to the above issue.
